What it does

Works where you type

Built for Gmail, Google Docs, Notion, Slack, LinkedIn, X, WordPress and Linear, with a general mode for other sites.

Fixes land in the right place

One click replaces only the flagged words in the editor, never the whole field.

Five kinds of English

American, British, Canadian, Australian or Indian English. Set it once, or per site.

A profile for each kind of writing

Email, Docs, Social and Technical profiles, each with its own rules, all editable.

Your words, your rules

Add words to your dictionary, ignore a flag for good, or switch whole rule groups on and off.

Stays out of sensitive fields

Passwords, one-time codes, code editors and banking fields are never checked.

What it can see

  • Reads the text in fields you type in, to check it on your device.
  • Never reads password, one-time code, code editor or banking fields.
  • Sends none of your writing anywhere. Checking works offline.
  • Contacts our server once a day for rule updates and safety fixes, and when you start a trial or buy a license.
  • Can be switched off for any site.

Questions

Does my writing leave my computer?

No. The grammar engine runs inside the extension, so your text is checked on your device and never sent to us or anyone else.

How is it different from Grammarly?

Gramcheck checks grammar, spelling and punctuation on your device. It doesn't rewrite your text with AI, and it needs no account or subscription.

What happens after the 5 years of updates?

Gramcheck keeps checking your writing. New rule and site updates stop; nothing else changes.

Do I need an account?

No. When you buy, you get a license file that the extension verifies offline. You can recover it any time with your order ID and email.

Is there a trial?

Yes: 14 days with every feature. After that, checking needs a license.
