What it does
Record from inside the call
A Record button sits in Meet itself. Pause, mute your mic and stop from the same bar, with live audio levels.
Survives crashes
Recordings are written to disk as you go. If the tab or Chrome crashes, recover the file from the library.
Files that open anywhere
A seekable MP4 that plays without extra software, or audio only as M4A.
Both sides of the call
Mixes the meeting audio with your microphone. Run a 5-second test clip first to check the levels.
A library for your recordings
Search, play, rename and export, with file names built from the date and meeting title.
No Workspace plan needed
Record on a free Gmail account, as a guest, or when the host can't record.
What it can see
- Runs only on meet.google.com.
- Captures the Meet tab and your microphone only while you record, with a Recording indicator visible in the call the whole time.
- Keeps recordings in your browser's storage and in files you export. Nothing is uploaded.
- The free version makes no network requests. After you buy, it contacts our server to collect your license.
Questions
Will other people know I'm recording?
Meetkeep shows a Recording indicator in the call the whole time it records, and has no hidden mode. Some places require everyone's consent to record, so tell people before you start.
What do I get for free?
Recordings up to 20 minutes, saved as WebM, with the full audio mix and test clip. A license removes the limit and adds MP4, audio-only export and smart file names.
Does a bot join my meeting?
No. Meetkeep records from your own browser tab, so nobody new appears in the participant list.
Is it an AI notetaker?
No. Meetkeep gives you the recording file. It doesn't transcribe or summarize anything.
How many computers can I use it on?
As many as you like. One license covers every computer you use.
